BMW 7 Series Review

One of India’s renowned luxury car makers BMW India launched the updated version of BMW under BMW 7th series. The Indian market felt its presence at a function help in Mumbai on 25 April 2013.

Although the new BMW 7th series has already been previewed at Jodhpur on a charity event named One World Retreat among the limited numbers of invitees, people got the glimpse of this wonder car in Mumbai also. BMW’s brand ambassador and the legendry cricketer is handed the responsibility to unveil the vehicle in the Indian market.

This luxury car was unveiled in the global market in May 2012 but now the vehicle has arrived in India to woo the Indian customers after providing a luxurious ride to European and US citizens. The new series, after getting a face lifting with life-cycle impulse treatment in July 2012, included major and minor structural changes in its exterior and interior.

Amendments in the exterior of BMW 7 Series

The new series has got redesigned handlamps in full LED trim and a new bumper kidney grille with 9 slats each instead of the conventional 12.

The addition of 5.5 inches to wheelbase has lowered the new 7 series to 8mm and wing mirrors are the new destinations for turn indicators. Further, viewers can now find the refreshed lamps and a new bumper at the rear of the car.

Astonishing changes in the interior of the new 7-series

Comfort and relaxation are two prime factors which led to the changes in the interior of the vehicle. The new 7-series has got new leather seats in front, rear seat entertainment package and a revised 1200 watt bang and Olufsen audio system.

The new car also features control display with 3D graphics, latest generation navigation system,multifunction instrument display, break energy regeneration, TFT screen instead of old dials and automatic start stop system.

However, the company decided to keep untouched the mechanics of the luxury vehicle. The engine lineup will remain the same like the existing one with a 3.0 liter inline six turbo diesel engine with the capacity to produce 258bhp of peak power. Makers decided to replace the six speed transmission with a new eight speed gearbox that will offer better fuel efficiency and faster gear change.

Price of the new BMW 7-series

BMW India is currently offering 4 variants of the car, three in petrol and one in diesel. These are priced in between 93 lakhs to 1.4 carores and hence, the Indian buyers can assume to purchase the all new 7- series in the same price range.

However, Indian buyers can expect relaxation in price as the new series will be assembled in India at Chennai assembly line. The biggest launch of the year is all set to give luxury driving experience to the Indian buyers.
