Additional features include 12V power outlet, Ipod connectivity and newly designed stereo system with Bluetooth and USB. Engine specification and performance of i10 and i20

Hyundai i10: It is available with 1.2L 16V DOHC Kappa engine and 1.1-litre Inline-four Intelligent Responsive Drive Engine (iRDE). The excellently designed Kappa engine offers an impressive power of 79 bhp at 5200 rpm and offers highest torque of 114 Nm at 4000 rpm. It is to note that the 5-speed manual transmission with overdrive comes standard in all variants and the new Kappa engine is available with 4-speed automatic transmission. Therefore it can be said that the new i10 is a superb performer with its latest Kappa engine. On the other hand, petrol engine is capable of producing maximum power of 66 bhp at 5500 rpm and peak torque of 99 Nm at 2800 rpm. Interestingly, the hatchback possesses a top speed of 150 kmph.


Hyundai i20: Under the short hood of this new car a 1.2-litre VTVT Kappa engine is installed which boasts of 84 PS of maximum power at 5200 rpm but amazing 11.4 kgm of peak torque at 4000 rpm. The engine is mated to 5-speed manual transmission but an automatic variant with four speed auto transmission can also be seen in this new model. Besides, 6-speed manual transmission I mated to the 1.4 litre diesel engine that produces top power of 90 Ps at 4000 rpm and excellent torque of 22.4 kgm at 1750-2750 rpm.

The 1.2 litre kappa engine variant of the car dashes from 0-100 kmph in merely 15.2 seconds while attaining a maximum speed of 154 kmph. Furthermore, the diesel version accelerates successfully and amazingly from 0-100 kmph in scorching 13.2 seconds with a top speed of 166 kmph.

Price comparison

The new Hyundai i10 has been priced between of Rs 3.54 lakh – Rs 5.95 lakh. On the other hand, the new astonishing i20 has been rated between Rs 4.73 lakh – Rs 7.67 lakh (Ex-showroom New Delhi).

Mileage Comparison

Hyundai i10: It has been designed to give impressive mileage of 12-15.4 kmpl in city and excellent 16-19 kmpl on highways.

Hyundai i-Gen i20: It’s 1.4 L Kappa engine is known for overall fuel efficiency of 15-17 and 18 kmpl -23 kmpl with its diesel engine.
