HYUNDAI VERNA REVIEW

Hyundai is the Korean Automaker that has made available some interesting vehicle in the Indian market and car buyers. After interesting transformations in i20, the manufacturer decided to provide an interesting look to the Verna with Verna Transform.

This is a facelift version of original Verna which was launched in the year 2006. New Verna is quite different and interesting than its originator, let’s see how:

Exterior Design and construction
The cosmetic changes to the car have transformed the way it looked. It has now been included with a new front grille, headlamps, bumper or more precisely updated bumper in rear with two built-in reflectors, tail lamps and dual chrome tip exhaust pipe. Else, everything matches that of the older version of Verna. The rear tail lamps are meant to provide improved visibility. The color options for new Verna include Deep Ocean Blue, Champagne Gold, Sleek silver, Stone Black, Crystal White and Blushing Red.

Comfortable and luxurious Interior
The newer version of the car has got fantastic interior changes with blue backlighting, a characteristic of the most upgraded Hyundai car. It is a part of standard Hyundai family that has stylized its range also including the new i20. Another interesting change includes twin-dial instrument cluster with chrome surrounds otherwise everything else is same like that of the existing model of Hyundai Verna.

However, fabric has been changed in the transformed version of the car and legroom for the front row seats has also been improved. In fact, comfort and openness can also be enjoyed in the rear seats with ample space available to rest your legs. So the new car is neither disappointing for those who love to drive their car nor for those who like to be chauffeur driven. But to our dismay, the new Verna Transform lacks the steering mounted audio controls, which are commonly seen in almost all of its competitors. Another disappointing thing is that is available without airbags, which are also offered by the competitors like Sedan.

Another interesting thing is the availability of driver information system in meter console to provide useful information like average, speed, fuel economy, trip meter, distance to empty and others.

Engine, ride and performance
Modern Verna is available in both petrol and diesel versions where petrol version is available with a 4 Cylinder 1599cc engine with power delivering capacity of 103.2 PS with torque of 146 Nm and 5 speed manual gear box. On the other hand, the diesel version is available with 4 cylinder and 1493 cc engine with power to deliver output of 110 PS and torque of 235 Nm. It is also available in 5 speed manual transmission and 4 speed automatic transmission.
The newer version of the car is available with alloy and steel wheel options while the rating of the tyre is 175/70 R14 for steel wheel and 185/65R14 for Alloy wheel. Power and drive quality is the interesting thing in this car that ensure excellent pick up, tough suspension and comfortable ride and handling. Engineering has not been changed much and hence, much difference can’t be experienced while driving the car.

Price range
The Ex-Showroom price of the car ranges between Rs. 7.07 Lakhs to Rs. 11.94 lakhs.
